Altars part 2

Altars

The alters were gorgeous filled with marigolds and photos of loved ones. Artwork around the alters mainly consisted of Mexican Calaveras, sculptures and paintings. There was an alter for fallen solders that was breathtaking coffee can lanterns with painted calaveras surround the alter and some created two crosses on each side. There was even a alter for Dr. Seuss, in the shape of the famous red and white hat.

Dia De Los Muertos, Hollywood Forever

Dia De Los Muertos was a lot of fun I’m so glad I went and painted my face! It took me about 45 min to paint my face. I had a late start so I did it in a hurry lol. At first it looked like I had a big bruise on my chin but with my mommy’s help the bruise turned into a rose.

Right when we walked into the cemetery we were greeted by two huge dancing skeletons. They were made out of foam, nice and lightweight. Some kids played music around them they are the people in the blue guayabera.

Wednesday is ART DAY !

Landscape painting check it out!
The top image was created by five year old Allegra. She created an expressionist landscape drawing, it was very important to her to try different medium.
Below is a landscape drawing by Zenia. The first time she came to the museum she said "I've never been to a museum but I've created lots of murals". These kids crack me up! They are definitely too big for there britches.

Ansel Adams

http://www.tucsonmuseumofart.org/
The Tucson Museum of Art has opened the Ansel Adams exhibition its pretty spectacular!
Why is Ansel Adams cool
1. He's from San Francisco
2. He's from San Francisco
3. He's from San Francisco

I read a little of his bio and supposedly he was a spoiled brat. But he did take some awesome pictures of national parks. Of course the best pics are of San Fran and the bay bridge before and after. So if you have time go to the TMA to see the cool Ansel Adams Exhibit!

Short Skirts

Oh Man I was so productive today! I came home made dinner and a skirt. This stupid thing took me 2 1/2 hours. But I have the hang of it now the next one should take an hour tops. It's made out of organic jersey knit cotton and has pockets which is awesome! I need to hem it, I like my skirts short. O geez which reminds me I saw my little cousin Daisy this weekend and she told me my skirt was tooooo short. What does she know shes only 8!

MArkers or CrAyoNS

Today I helped teach a a group of kids k-4, about abstract art. First we took them to the museum to show them the difference between realism and abstract art. And then we went to the STUDIO to create art. They seemed to have fun! I had fun ! And they created some really cool artwork.

Faster Than a Speeding Bullet: The Art of the Superhero

September 26, 2009 - January 3, 2010

I had the privilege to go to the opening reception for this exhibit at the University of Oregon. The museum was impressive as well as the exhibit. The best part of this opening was the little kids who attended wearing superhero costumes. Too cute!

ART Notepad

I think I just stated a couple days ago I didn't want a blog. But after some consideration and my husband getting on my case for being unorganized and leaving downloads of art work, fashion or cool galleries I want to visit on the desktop. I decided I will post it on this blog for me to enjoy and who ever else who comes across this blog.
so enjoy!
